Sparkling Five Star Reviews for the Sheltering Stars

The Sheltering Stars
...a very worthy sequel to The Unicorn Gate.
...good tension between heroes and villians and fun to read for the older kids and younger teenagers.
The villains are just as hissable and the final battle is well worth the wait. A great sequel.
...great characters and thoroughly enjoyable.

Heartsong
Heartsong is a beautifully crafted book, which is a delight to read and an absolute must to give as a gift. It's the sort of book to leave on your bedside table and dip into last thing at night and has a little something for everyone who enjoys well-written gems of poetry and prose.

The Unicorn Gate - a wonderful read

The Unicorn Gate
It's not only Toby and Daisy who pass into a magical other world, the reader does too. Although she's aimed the book at older children, Iona Jenkins has created such vivid images - and such horrible villains - that adults should also find it enthralling. A wonderful read.

Heartsong - a bit of a gem

Some lovely prose (particularly liked the bittersweet 'Messengers' - will never think of robins in the same way) and some wonderfully evocative poetry: “In rolling golden glory the ripened corn extends before me…” (The Harvest); and: “Dreamy and drugged by the beat my heart moves my blood like the drum moves the dance…” (Sikh Wedding). Loved it.
